Cassandra, RVT

Cass graduated from Seneca college in 2015. She has been dipping her toes in different fields of veterinary medicine, trying to learn as much as possible in each avenue, spending several years in emergency practice before joining Dr. Pegg.

She was introduced to this team by a close friend and couldn't be happier to work with the most genuine and heartfelt people. Aside from work, she enjoys stumbling around our planet, sampling foods and learning about other cultures, as well as spending time with friends and family. Pictured here are her two fur babies, Kiwi and Rayne.

Heather, RVT

Heather has always had an interest in animals whether it be horseback riding, family pets or rescuing injured wildlife. She started working in veterinary hospitals in high school and graduated from the Seneca College Veterinary Technician program in 2010.

When she is not at work she enjoys reading books, spending time outdoors with her family and traveling. She currently lives in the area with her wife, son and 2 cats.

Heather enjoys the patient and client care aspects of veterinary medicine and loves working as part of a cohesive, caring team.

Laura,

Hospital Manager, VT

From a young age, Laura knew her future would involve working with animals. In 2008, she graduated from the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus with a diploma in Veterinary Technology. Over the years, she gained diverse experience as a technician in an emergency hospital, a research facility, and a small animal practice. Eager to expand her knowledge, she returned to school and earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from the University of Guelph in 2014.

After graduation, Laura shifted her focus to client services and administration of small animal practices. Through her varied roles, she discovered her passion for veterinary hospital management.

Outside of work, Laura enjoys spending weekends at the cottage with her family and relaxing with her senior cat, Pepe.

Kim, Client Care, VT

Kim knew at a young age that she wanted to be a voice for animals. She graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at Seneca College in 1995 then went on to spend many years working in small animal clinics in Newmarket and, most recently in Barrie, in a variety of roles - animal nursing, hospital management and client service.

Kim’s passion for pet nutrition led her out of the clinic environment and into a three year position at Rayne Clinical Nutrition, offering a veterinary diet to those pets with severe allergies and complicated medical conditions. But she very much missed working directly with dogs and cats and their families. Kim is thrilled to join the team at Ascentra, doing what she loves best, working in client care as an advocate for pets and pet parents and, she is always happy to talk about dental diets and appropriate dental treats for pets. Outside of work, Kim shares her home with 2 daughters and 3 senior rescue pets, 2 dogs and 1 cat. Kim loves spending time with the whole gang at her family cottage, and enjoys swimming, hiking and reading.

Alex, ACA

Alex is an experienced animal care attendant with two years of emergency care experience, as well as work across multiple specialty departments, including surgery. She enjoys the versatile nature of her role, supporting the team behind the scenes and connecting with clients at the front desk.

Outside of work, Alex loves sharing fun moments with her dog, Jade, spending time with friends, traveling to visit loved ones, and staying active through fitness.
